What to Do with Unwanted Items | Gomestic
What to Do with Unwanted Items | Gomestic
What should you do with unwanted items? There is almost always someone who will take your unwanted items and make good use of them. Rather than filling up the landfills, it’s much better to have those items continue to be useful for others. Next time you think of throwing something away. Take time to check and see if someone else would be happy to have it.

Temptation Foods, Portion Sizes and Free Foods | Healthmad
Temptation foods (and we know what they are) should not be brought into the house. If your child asks, you don’t have it. Stock your refrigerator and pantry with healthy food choices to avoid your overweight child being tempted by food high in sugar and fat. A piece of fruit or low fat yogurt is a good option for a midmorning or afternoon snack. Your child can eat as much as he wants of free foods. Serve these in plenty. Serving sizes and calorie count follow.

Use What You Have | Gomestic
Use What You Have | Gomestic
We throw many things that are still usable and then buy something else to replace it. This is a waste of energy and our money. Before you throw anything away, take a careful look at it and see if there is any way you can continue to use it. You can repaint furniture and rethink it’s usefulness. Maybe someone you know could use it. If all else fails, donate it to the thrift store.

Remember that one soft drink contains 16 tablespoons of sugar.
Exercise for Your Inactive Child | Healthmad
Exercise for Your Inactive Child | Healthmad
This is a plan to get your inactive child moving. There are many fun activities that can be substituted for inactive ones. You might have to lock away the video games and put away the CDs and computer to get his attention. An inactive child can learn to like all fun activities. If he or she is already overweight he will be awkward at the beginning of the program but as he loses weight he or she will be a happier, healthier child. It’s worth the effort to give your child a healthier life.
