Our weather has gone crazy this year. We are either baking or drowning. Some areas have been in the clutches of a drought all summer, while other are being flooded in rain. Today in Marietta sirens have been sounding all afternoon. We watched TV trying to keep up with the tornadoes in our area. They were springing up all around us and from what we see, trees have been uprooted and some houses destroyed but we have been spared. We were hoping for rain to end the drought but we only had a shower or two which will not help much unless more is on the way.

Unbelievable as it seems, our Triond articles are being plagiarized and published on the same sites as our original work. I cannot fathom why Triond would allow that to happen. But today, I saw it with my own eyes. A Triond writer "Payaltyagi" published two of my articles appearing on the hot list under her name. As you can imagine I am very upset.

Kathryn Stockett’s book, "The Help" is a best seller and a movie was recently made from it. Some blacks would have liked such a book to have been written by a black person but blacks and whites say they like the book and the movie. It’s the story of black domestics in the 1960s and their white employers. Stockett, herself was raised by a black nanny during that time in Mississippi. The 1960s were the times of upheaval and civil right marches. Martin Luther King was in the forefront, and blacks and whites were marching in the streets for civil liberties.
