Before the invention of disposable diapers, cloth diapers were the only diapers available. Cloth diapers are reusable, in fact you can use them for the first baby to the last unless they get some really rough wear. They are kinder to the environment, less expensive and the laundry isn’t that difficult. Cloth diapers are making a come back and with good reason.

You remember I told y’all sister didn’t want me to make no cakes to take to Miz Pruitt’s setting up. She was braggin on her cooking and throwin off on mine, like to have burned me up but I didn’t say nothin. I just kept my mouth shut and let that old girl talk a blue streak. Anyways, this cake she brought to the settin up was pretty good. Now, I wont say it was better than mine, cause it wasn’t but it was pretty good.

A death on the mountain where Sister lived was much different from now. We go during visiting hours to the funeral home for visitation with the bereaved family. But on the mountain there is a setting up for two nights. The women keep food on the table while groups change out to sit with the corpse. Stories are told about old times and children play.
