Fiber The Staff of Life | Healthmad
Americans don’t eat nearly enough fiber. Fast food takeout and processed food do not fill the bill. We need whole grain, fruit, seeds, nuts and vegetables to provide enough fiber for a healthy life. Fiber aids digestion and is the least complicated food to prepare. An apple, a hand full of nuts, sunflower seeds, beans, all these provide fiber and lessens the risk of hypertension, cancer, heart-disease and many other diseases.

Shame on Atlanta Public Schools | Socyberty
Shame on Atlanta Public Schools | Socyberty
Shame on Atlanta Public Schools for choosing to treat the gifted class to a five day trip to Disney World while denying the other students. It is inferring the average students are inferior and not good enough. We thought segregation ended in the 60s but it seems not. The average child should be praised and respected just as much for their hard work as the gifted who breeze through classes with little studying. None should be made to feel inferior.

Processed Foods That are Good for You | Quazen
Processed Foods That are Good for You | Quazen
Actually most processed foods are unhealthy, but some are good for you. You must read labels and check the ingredients. Rule out any salty, sugary, fatty foods that are full of preservatives. Leave them on the shelf where they belong, certainly not in your shopping cart. Frozen vegetables, which I don’t think of as processed at all, are better than fresh ones at the grocers. Just don’t take those with sauces.

Dangerous Food Contamination | Healthmad
Dangerous Food Contamination | Healthmad
Dangerous food contamination is in the headlines almost every day. E ven the greenest most succulent vegetables can be full of bacteria. We will never be absolutely free from dangerous bacteria, but we can follow all the safety rules to be as safe as possible. For instance never use the same cutting board to prepare both meat and vegetables. Refrigerate all leftovers within two hours. And if your greens look limp and soft, throw them out. Buy only what you know you will cook and eat within a few days. Follow all the rules and your family will be at less risk.
