The human body relies on bugs for health and life. Without the microbes the human body plays host to, there would be no human life. Scientists tell us we are 90% bugs and 10% human. The number of microbes our lives depend are staggering. Maybe it would be more appropriate to label ourselves as a "human-microbe hybrid".

The rich should pay their fair share of taxes. The extremely wealthy pay about 12% of their income while the working class pays about 40% of theirs. Is there anything fair about that? The working class carries the weight of the country on their backs while the rich smirk. President Obama has asked for taxes to be raised on the very rich but to no avail. Republicans like Rep. Paul Ryan cry "class warfare." The only class warfare I see is when the rich are exempt from paying their fair share of taxes.

The debate over the PHV vaccine is raging. Many parents are upset at the idea that their 12 year old might become sexually active and have any need for the vaccine. It is understandable. No parent wants to think their 12 year old would be involved in sex. But the truth is, some kids that age are. The vaccine will be of no consequence if the child doesn’t become involved in sex. If she does, it could save her life. That seems to me to be reason enough to get the vaccination at an early age.

While we don’t want to break the bank dressing up our homes, we do want to keep it looking up to date. You can do it on the cheap if you’re watching pennies, which most of us are doing these days. Thrift stores are the first places to start. You can always find some beautiful deals there. Yard sales can also have good bargains. Your old furniture can be brought up to date with varnish or paint. Using a little paint, fabric and lots of elbow grease we can beautify our homes on a budget.

Bryce Dallas Howard put in her time on Broadway and starred in some good, but low key movies. Now she’s hitting the big time playing the snooty raciest Holly Holbrook in "The Help" The movie was based on Kathryn Stockett’s book, set in Mississippi in the 1960s. Howard was hesitant to take on the role, but says she found it fun playing the part of Holly, even though she was despicable, and it was great working with her co stars, Emma Stone and Viola Davis.
